Hooray, its giveaway day over at Sew Mama Sew and I'm playing!

I am giving you the chance to win a 50cm x 42cm vintage sheet square that I have screen printed with a tree design,

and three one meter lengths of ric rac that I have crocheted.

Here's an example of something I made earlier using the printed sheet and the ric rac.

The possibilities are endless and I can't wait to hear your ideas.

  • Leave me a comment with your idea on this post for an entry.
  • If you follow my blog let me know for a second entry.
  • Make sure you leave an email or link to your profile so I can get in touch with you should you be the lucky winner.
  • Entries close Thursday May 20th at midnight AEST and I will randomly pick a winner on Friday 21st May.
  • I am happy to post to where ever the lucky winner comes from.

You've gotta be in it to win it so get commenting peeps.

And may your Monday be a funday!

  1. oh! I am not sure I am up for making clothing out of that delicious sheet... it would most likely be a beautiful curtain or part of a fabric board. the ric rac, of course, would become come feathers on (owl)ies I do believe.

I am one of the brilliant people who follow you ;)

  2. I LOVE your tree! I would make a dress for Annie-Rose, yes I would, it would be her Katie Dress xxxx

  3. As you say the possibilities are endless... mmmmmm... I know that I would use the ric-rac to embellish a little frock for my little Ms. Learning how to crochet ric-rac is on my list of things to learn because I have great imaginings of creating beautiful frocks.
And the screen print... it is so special and I love it so much that I don't know if I'd have the heart to use it for children's clothes where it would be outgrown in a matter of moments. Perhaps then I would use it as part of a picnic blanket quilt (another project on my mental list of things to make on day). Your tree would be the perfect motif for such a creation.
    What a totally ACE giveaway!!!

  4. First, I would have to covet these items for a time... then, eventually, I would make the vintage into a couch cushion to gaze at often. The ric-rac might adorn a pincushion or a needle book, also so that they could be admired for a long time. :)

I follow you on my reader!

    Cheers.

  5. I do cross stitch and I would use the Ric Rac as finishing on some of my ornaments that I make and green vintage sheet would be turned into a bag or part of.

  8. Didn't even know there was a global Giveaway Day! Must be living with my head in the sand or sumpin!! lol.
mmmm.....I think I'd like to make some scrappy vintage style aprons with the sheet and I'm thinking the ric rac would go down a treat on those aprons!
Thanks for a fabulous giveaway Kate! x

  9. oops! p.s. yes I follow too! :)

  10. The fabric is gorgeous (love green with that tree!) and it would be used for a little girls skirt, the green ric rac would go on the skirt for trim and the other coloured ric rac would be saved for another day :)

  11. I think I would have to make a swing dress for Pop-inator as it is soo sweet, but I think a sheered one so that I can get the dress to shirt wear. That croched ric rac though is going straight to the mummy pile - divine! and I will never have a hope of recreating that. I think a denim skirt would so need a bit of ric rac love.
    I think I am a follower?!
So lovely to meet you all so briefly on Sat night. Will have to organise a morning meet up one day!

    ReplyDelete
  12. Well with the sheet I would either save it and make a cute dress for my little miss for next summer, of course with some of your fabulous Ric Rac on it.

Or maybe a cool project bag, or maybe to line my new craft box that will be made out of a picnic basket.

As for the Ric Rac, well your example on the wee dress looks fabulous, or maybe as decoration on my project bag, or even on a cute doll.

It's too hard to say right away, because they would also look lovely just as they are :)

    ReplyDelete
  13. Ooh I'll have two entries please! Now I think I'd make my littlest girl a dress like you have made. They look so cute. And the ricrac I'd probably have to keep for a while to just admire it and think how clever you are at making it.
Thanks for a wonderful giveaway Kate!

    ReplyDelete
  14. I love the print I'd probably use it as part of a bag the ric rac would be fun trim for pants or jeans for my little miss

    ReplyDelete
  15. Ummm ... maybe pop the square into a quilt!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Lovely to meet you on Sat night (and put a friendly face to the name!)
Oh, the things I would do with some hand crocheted ric rac! But the square (love the idea of printing on patterned fabric!) would definately be a ballooned top for my little one for summer, matched with apple green bloomers. Lovely! Of course I'm a follower.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Hooray for a Giveaway! I would have to make a cushion cover with ric-rac trim so that it could be used everyday and it would remind me of your lovely comments to my humble blog :-)

    ReplyDelete
  18. A dress or a bag, may be some pants? For the gals. Lots of things I could make. Love the trim.

    ReplyDelete
  19. It would have to be a dress just like the one you made (I have no imagination!). I'm a follower...please be me, please be me!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Oh how divine! First thing that has popped into my head is that I would take that tree and sew it into some saddle bags for my vintage Schwinn cruiser bicycle. She is the loveliest shade of green and it would so suit her. The ric rac has so many potential uses but, I'm leaning towards a little gathering bag for the smallish one.
Thanks for the chance to win something so nice.

No, you're not paranoid, I am indeed following you.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Hi Kate. Great giveaway! I do love your ric rac and I think I would be tempted to turn it into some jewellery for me. I love the colours and can just see it adorning my wrist and neck or maybe gathering a bit of it up into a brooch. The tree printed fabric would be turned into a bag for me too. After the kids clothing week challenge I am feeling very selfish when it comes to sewing! And yes I already follow your gorgeous blog.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Don't count me as an entry, but I think that ricrac is really lovely. I'm going to have to find a pattern to make some of my own! You chose some great colours.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Oh Kate the purple ric rac is begging to finish the neckline of a dress in my UFO box. I think once I had them in my hands and absorbed the texture some other ideas would flow. Crochet ric rac would be a great textural addition to cards too!
    I'm a follower :)

    ReplyDelete
  24. Ok I am joining you in the giveaway day..And of course I follow you :)......

As far as creations, I would have to take a cue from you and make Sophie a little something with this fabric and ricrac...Love it!

    ReplyDelete
  25. The vintage screen printed linen would look wonderful as a pillow cover and the ric rac would be super cute trim for a pillow case or doily! Thanks for the chance!!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Thank you Kate for a beautiful give away, truly divine and just so special with your homely touch. I think I would love to use the ric rac to create little flowers with a matching button or bead in the centre and turn them into either a hair accessory for my gorgeous little girl, or use them as a feature embellishment on an article of clothing, even on a little brooch clip as a funky piece of jewellery. Likewise they would make a great appliqué feature on little tops (with fabric yoyos etc.) Endless ideas.

So many options for the fabric, a feature panel on a taggie blanket to be loved and cherished by a young child, a gorgeous cushion panel to match my décor’, a journal cover which could feature the embellished ric rac flowers, a divine apron panel with added ruffle bottom and beautiful ties to wear in my country style kitchen.
To see the fabric in real life would bring the greatest inspiration for its’ true destiny.

    I’m also a follower J Wish me luck J

    ReplyDelete
  27. YAY! I have been dying to get my hands on that tree print! And that fabric is to die for! I think I would either make some sort of a gorgeous patchwork table cloth or runner (we are in desperate need and then the print and fabric would always be on display) or I would make a little mini dress for my bub to be with the ruffles and all. Thanks for the chance! xo m.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I already follow your great blog and am a fan of your prints! I would probably use the fabric and crochet trim on a cushion - my house is in serious need of new cushions xx

    ReplyDelete
  29. PS. I am already a follower- and you can tell how badly I want to win by the fact that I am mentioning this to get two entries... LOL. xo m.

  30. How could I not enter this giveaway!! I love the little tunic you made, so I'd have trouble trying not to replicate it, but uber goober needs a treasure bag to sling over her shoulder as she's taken to wandering around the house with whatever she can find - the bath toy bag, paper bags as big as she is, shopping bags I'm yet to put away...the list goes on! It would be rather fun to make a purpose built one out of your tree!

    I'm pretty sure I'm a follower! I hope you're having a pleasant day. xx

    ReplyDelete
  31. I'd have to say the vintage fabric.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I love that ric rac, I wish I could do that!
I'd edge something for Tallulah, but first I'd hoard and hoard it!
The sheet is gorgeous, she has a tunic out of that fabric too.
Maybe a shirt...I love soft old sheets, I had this print as a kid.
Maybe a skirt for me...thinking, thinking.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Kate, I love your tree screen prints and I love that green fabric. I think it would find a place on the front of my favourite dark green skirt right over the large stain that has been preventing me from wearing it. As for the ric rac, Eloise has a pair of lovely apple green pants that need embellishing, and I love these colours together.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I think it would make a lovely tote bag with purple ric rac. Speaking of tote bags, I'm giving one away! Don't you just love Giveaway Day?!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I love that the sheet is green so I can craft something up for my boys. Probably some sort of library tote. The crochet ric rac would probably be seen hanging in our playroom with some handmade something hanging from it making into a lovely garland.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Is one allowed to enter even if they don't have a blog of their very own? I do follow your blog and it's one of my favourites.
In case I can enter I'd better explain my plan for your lovely prize. I'm in the middle of making a skirt for me and need some ric rac for the hem base, not on the outside, but on the inside with the curvy bits poking out. I would use the screen printed tree sheet fabric for the front half of a top for a friends little girl.
    I hope I'm allowed to enter. nicp42@live.com.au

  55. Hmmm, I suppose telling you that I would pay you to make me one of your fabulous original designs for moi would be out of the question then...?

    Bugger.

I think ruffle pants might be the way to go then, if I had to make them myself, I'm yet to break out any of the patterns from 'Sewing Clothes Kids Love' (yet to iron on the interfacing stuff...), what better to start out on than a pair of fabbo pants using a unique print from Foxs lane?! (Seriously, I ask you... what better..?!)

As for the fabric, a bag (for me)
And the ricrac? Too gorgeous to use straight away; I'd just stash it and covet it for a while.

She's pretty sad about loosing all her pretties as you can imagine, so I'm hoping I'll win a few of these giveaways and she'll get a lovely surprise present in the mail LOL!!

  79. How lovely, I think the piece of fabric should be seen as a whole, so with that in mind I looked at the measurements and have decided it will make a gorgeous cushion, I would use the little bit thats spare to make 3 large fabric buttons as its closure, and with the lovely crocheted ric rac, I would hope to incorporate this in the seam around the edge,so it doesn't get lost in the fabric, and then I'm hoping theres still some ric rac left to incorporate into a brooch.
I only found you last night, I absolutely love your blog, and sat there reading virtually all of it!

  136. That is fabulous. Every time I see someone screenprint to make something their own, I am reminded all over again how much I love it.

I would make a reversible cross back no button pinafore with it for my three year old. Long enough to be a dress now and a top next year.

I love your blog - this is the first time I've been by, but not the last.

    ReplyDelete
  137. I'd make a baby dress or top.

  144. HI Kate, I hope you get lots of nice visitors who hang around and find out just how nice you and your blog are! I have admired your ric rac for a long time- so you expect your winner to actually use it- not just admire it hey. Big ask! Well, because I am in the process of making my crafty space nice I think I would put it on a cushion for in there- although, I would also like it as a trim on a skirt for me. The printed sheet- well it could be a feature in the quilt I am 'gunna' make using vintage sheets. Gee, you'll be reading these comments for a while- there are loads!

    ReplyDelete
  145. I would use the screen printed fabric in a bag or throw so that lots of people could admire it's beauty and simplicity!

  149. I see a large carryall purse with the fabric. Not sure if ricrac would be enough to embellish it or if I would have to learn how to crochet my own.

    ReplyDelete

As for what I would make - I'm not sure, but I have a total obsession with the idea of little girls dresses at the moment. I have never made one before, but I think this fabric would be ideal, and in 6months or so a dress will actually be quite useful for my plump little darling who will probably be walking around like a big ole person by then!

  171. I am so inspired by your creativeness. My baby girl is 19 but you give me incentive to want to make her something. She loves the instyle hat and scarves - so, I am thinking that if I win I will find a tutorial on the kind of hats she likes(reminds me of conductor's hats) and make her a hat out of the material and ric rac. Thank you for sharing your talent.
