My creative space.

In my creative space today I am binding,

overlocking and gathering,

crocheting a trim,

and putting together surprising colour combinations.
I cannot believe that I am considering sewing with this orange trimmed table cloth but somehow this combination looks summery and fun to me today despite my dislike of the colour.

Oh, and I'm also still hooking away at my Softie for Mirabel, knitting my Tea Leaves cardi and my test for Tikki but I haven't got any recent photos of these. I also have a whole pile of projects that will realistically never be finished so I'm not even going there.

I know I should probably stop starting new projects until I finish some of these but that wouldn't be fun now would it?

Over to Kirsty's for some more creativity.
Happy Thursday y'all. XX

  2. I love that you crochet your trims! The blue and orange colour combo look great together. You sound like me with all your projects on the go. I tried to challenge myself to finish 5 things before starting any new. I did it but it was hard and like you say, no fun! But it was satisfying to finally finish some projects. Good luck with all on your list today!

  3. I love that you have so much going on. I can't really do that because I've got so little space and I work better in a tidy room (can I really be so anal? oh gosh) but I just started a new sewing project today without finishing my latest. You are inspiring to me, now I know it won't kill me!

  6. It's definately more fun to start a new project than finish an old one. Looking forward to seeing what you are doing with a few of these sneaky peeks though so hope you manage to finish a few!

  7. I'm so curious as to what you are going to do with the blue table cloth that is trimmed in orange... I might have to have a peek again later :)
And don't worry - I have lots of WIP's too! I've convinced myself that it's normal - almost!

  10. Your fabrics have any earthy organic feel to me today. Funny how colours suddenly grow on you. I don't like yellow or orange much, maybe because they were Mum's favourites in the '70s but suddenly I find myself wearing them. Only not quite in the '70s brights. heehee. Cherrie

  20. I have three projects on the go at the moment - crochet flowers, Christmas presents and a crochet hexagon blanket, and I am trying really hard not to start anything else until they are finished!! It is difficult though, especially since I brought new fabric at the craft fair...

Love all that is happening in your space and agree, that colour combination is not one I would usually think of, but it looks great. :)

  22. Way to go Kate! busy busy busy.

I think the orange and blue look super together.

I have so many unfinished projects, I must stop starting new ones. It's becoming rather annoying. Argh!!
    Mental Note: Must finish projects.

    Have a most delightful day.

  24. I'm loving your colour sense, and really, where's the fun in slogging through an old project while dreaming of the new and shiny. I'd much rather work on my projects when the desire/inspiration/love returns.

  26. I really like the colour combo in the last pic. It's loud, but it works. It really does.

  27. I think that orange against the blue is fabulous, really striking, and I like it tempered with the other pale fabric with orange highlights.
I can't believe you are making a tea leaves cardi too too. You've obviously given up sleeping to fit it all in!
