Sundress.

I'm loving making these summery little dresses at the moment!
(I think she's a bit over modelling them for me though!)

Some vintage floral sheets, a bit of elastic and I make the rest up as I go along.

Sometimes long, sometimes short, maybe a pocket, or a frill, or some twirly gathers. The mixy matchier the better I think.

I couldn't be bothered hemming the sleeves on this one so I cut them on the selvage. I love a sewing short cut don't you?

She's slowly acquiring a whole wardrobe of them. The three of them are. I wonder if people down the street mutter to each other: There go those girls dressed in floral bed sheets...

Maybe one of these days I'll work out a way to scale the pattern up for sizes other than my three and write up a pattern. Maybe one day I'll make one for myself. Maybe one day I'll make up a few and pop them in my shop. Maybe.

I hope your Sunday is a funday.

Oh and my cushion cover auction ends tomorrow morning. You gotta be in it to win it you know!!

Bye now. XX

  6. I made myself some summer pj pants last year, out of a sheet identical to Miss Pepper's right sleeve (pink and green floral).

I keep spotting it on various dresses on your blog and thinking Ooh there's my pyjamas!

  9. This looks like the perfect EASY summer dress. I would love to buy a pattern once you've drafted one up :)
Hannah is loving her Everything But the Threads Dress although we had to take the elastic out of the sleeves. I keep meaning to take some nice summery photos of her in it!
I also loved the red and white twine you wrapped the parcel in - brown paper packages tied up with string - sigh! Too delicious!

  10. I'd say the people down the street would be quite well wishing they could have one each for themselves! I made my first dress this week from a vintage bed sheet & I love it! Very basic, but very pretty, I've worn it twice already..x

  17. I think you should definitely make some for your shop - they're very cheery and cute. It reminds me a bit of the Sound of Music, with the children all dressed in their curtain fabric 'play clothes'. So sweet and thrifty!

I do read every single comment you leave and appreciate it very much, but I should let you know that I can be a wee bit on the useless side when replying to comments, that's just me, everyday life sometimes gets in the way....so I'll apologise now, just in case.
